Does penis size really matter?
Dear Small Fry,
I applaud your confidence in asking such a personal question, but you're not alone in asking. It's a question many dudes ask themselves and usually it's not because of what their partner thinks but rather what they think. In all honesty, I've heard both sides. Recently a couple of female friends of mine were chatting about their rendezvous and two of them actually said their sexual partner was too big, and that it hurt them to have sex. SERIOUSLY? WHAT KIND OF PLEASURE IS IN THAT? Aesthetically, a larger penis is ideal, but it's not always the best option. With the porn industry constantly introducing men with seemingly large penises, please don't let it impact you. Often they edit them and do certain angles to create an illusion. Remember, porn isn't real life, don't get hung up on it.
Here's some facts for you: According to a study reported in the journal Psychology of Men and Masculinity, the erect penis size of most men — 68 percent — is between 4.6 and 6 inches long. About 16 percent of men have an erect penis size longer than 6.1 inches, and of those only 2.5 percent are over 6.9 inches. About 16 percent of men have an erect penis size that’s shorter than 4.5 inches, with only 2.5 percent of those under 3.7 inches. In the same study of more than 52,000 participants — men and women — 45 percent of men reported that they were unsatisfied with their penis size and wanted to be larger. Compare that figure to the 16 percent who actually are shorter than average. And the perception didn’t change with age, either — about the same number of older men were unhappy with their penis size as were the younger guys. *Another side note is the average vagina is only about 4 inches long, so if you're average, you're plenty capable of pleasing a woman.
Constantly worrying about your dong size can be really limiting and inhibit you from enjoying sex or even becoming intimate with someone. According to Patti Britton a sex therapist with a PhD from Los Angeles, women do care about size but it's usually a wider penis that really pleases a woman, rather than a longer, skinny one. She also adds:
"There is an adage, it's not the size, it's how you use it, "If the male is a skilled lover manually and orally and sensually, he can produce high levels of pleasure and success in his lovemaking."
Hope this helps you out, Now get jiggy wit it,
